Media and presentation training
Our approach
Equip your team with the tools they need to communicate with impact and confidence no matter the audience – from media interviews and industry conferences to staff town halls and beyond.
Our media and presentation training programs are designed to suit all experience levels – from those stepping into public roles for the first time to seasoned professionals seeking a refresher.
Today, effective media training isn’t about frightening executives by ambushing them with 1980s tabloid-style “doorstops” and aggressive journalists.
We aim for a realistic approach – giving spokespeople the context, the tools and techniques to present their organisation’s narrative in a compelling way – whether that is defensive or promotional – in every media interview or speaking opportunity. This will give them the skills to “control the controllables”, even when faced with a challenging journalist or stakeholder.
Led by experienced former journalists, communication consultants and former advisers our customised training includes:
- Understanding today’s media environment and how to handle an evolving dynamic.
- Leveraging existing negotiation skills to prepare for and use in interview situations.
- Developing personal presence by aligning voice, body language and intention.
- Crafting and maximising messaging opportunities during interviews or presentations.
- Learning storytelling frameworks that bring clarity, emotion and meaning to your message. Managing nerves through simple mindset shifts and physical techniques that build confidence under pressure.
- Practicing realistic scenarios that escalate across print (digital) and broadcast, to mimic the contemporary news cycle.
Individual or small group training is available, with sessions conducted across Australia.
