Rebrand 2018

Rural Workforce Agency Victoria (RWAV) creates sustainable health workforce models that support Victoria’s rural, regional and Aboriginal communities, to deliver services to approximately 2.3 million people. In 2019 we created a new visual identity and brand narrative for RWAV, to communicate its inherently rural foundation and its values of respect, trust, accountability and innovation.

Drawing upon contour lines found in topographical maps – to symbolise the regional footprint and impact of RWAV’s work – the new brand symbol was deliberately created to have multiple interpretations. 

Whether the outer shapes of the brandmark formed a vibrant, healthy flower (symbolic of life and vitality), or were interpreted as arrows expanding in all directions (reflecting the increasing access to primary health services for rural Victorians), the elements carefully formed the iconic medical cross to reinforce the organisation’s purpose as a primary healthcare provider in rural Victoria. 

An easy-to-use style guide was also designed for the organisation, in addition to a set of simple communication pillars for RWAV and its people to adopt in any marketing and communications.
